With your help, grant champions Marie-Laure Vaganay and Jim Louwsma are unlocking the potential of those served by the nonprofit organizations they help lead. Like so many P&G alumni, they are working to improve lives now and for generations to come.
Marie-Laure Vaganay – Life Project 4 Youth Grant Champion
Life Project 4 Youth’s goal is to relieve as many youths as possible from extreme poverty, thanks to an innovative and proven successful entrepreneurial approach. LP4Y’s grant champion, Marie-Laure Vaganay, explains why she championed this grant: “As a P&G Alum, the least I can do is provide LP4Y with time, funds, and talents as a result of my P&G career. Their relentless efforts have never been more relevant than in today’s world.”
The $20,000 grant from the P&G Alumni Foundation has helped people like Jiselle. “I am personally grateful for LP4Y. They provided guidance, encouragement, openness, and the opportunity to be a productive member of society. On top of that, I am grateful for myself and each of us working to make our dreams come true. Believe in the power of YOU.”
Jim Louwsma – Partners Worldwide Grant Champion
Jim Louwsma leverages his 2+ decades of time in P&G Sales at Partners Worldwide. He is grateful for the opportunity to work with PW as it works to link small-scale, marginalized farmers to viable markets that can lift them and their families out of poverty: “It is one of the few partner organizations in the country equipping these farmers with the skills, resources, and access to local and regional markets—including major regional supermarket chains—for lasting generational emergence out of poverty.”
The $20,000 Alumni Foundation grant to Partners WW has helped people like Grace. “I am grateful to Partners Worldwide and Africa Works for introducing me to beekeeping, as this has resulted in my orchard fruit trees increasing yield, quality, income, and pollination”. Grace has been able to use the additional proceeds from the honey to buy food and clothes and pay school fees.
