SUMMARY:ES Webinar: August 9th with Billy Lagor\, Sr VP of Brand at Constellation Brands
DESCRIPTION:Creating an “Always On” Culture of Transformation” \n  \nOver the past decade or so\, companies have been focused on transformation initiatives – Digital Transformation\, Operational Transformation\, Cultural Transformation etc. The underlying need though\, is not to limited to transformation initiatives (which are often great catalysts to change) but to create a culture and norms that embrace transformation as an endemic state. Today’s discussion is about sharing one person’s learning (often the hard way) on creating cultures that embrace constant change and leverage Transformation as a daily muscle to drive competitive advantage. \n  \nAbout Billy Lagor: \nBilly is currently SVP\, Brand Management\, Wine and Spirits at Constellation Brands leading many of the world’s finest brands in the category such as Meiomi\, Kim Crawford\, Robert Mondavi Private Selection\, Woodbridge\, and Svedka. Prior to that he served 18 months as Chief Growth Officer at Juice Plus where he remains a member of the Board of Directors. Before that\, he spent over 15 years at Hasbro\, one of the world’s largest brand play companies where he began in brand management on brands such as GI Joe and Marvel and later headed up commercial marketing for both APAC and the US before being appointed the Regional President/GM for APAC and starting the global E-commerce function for the company. Billy started his career in health care at P&G where he worked in New Business Development\, Oral Care\, and Pharmaceuticals. He graduated with a BA in History from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently lives in San Francisco with his partner\, Noah and their pup\, Wally. \nRegister

SUMMARY:ES Webinar: July 12th with Alexander von Schirmeister\, Managing Director\, Xero (UK\, Europe\, Middle East & Africa)
DESCRIPTION:“Will the Digital Marketing Transformation produce the CMOs of the future?” \n  \nMarketing as a craft has fundamentally changed from the P&G Brand Management days in the early 1990’s. The arrival of technology in particular\, has maybe changed Marketing more than any other discipline or function in an organization. And what used to be a pretty linear and sure-fire way to mint future CMOs and even CEOs\, has become much more specialised\, fragmented\, and challenging. This webinar seeks to explore what has changed\, but will also argue that the craft of Marketing is perhaps more relevant than ever\, despite its significant transformation. \n  \nAbout Alexander von Schirmeister: \nAlex Von Schirmeister joined Procter & Gamble in Mexico after obtaining his Business Degree from Georgetown University in 1993. He spent 4 years in P&G’s Laundry and Cleaning Products category on brands such as Maestro Limpio\, Ariel\, and Salvo. Since obtaining his MBA at INSEAD in 1998\, Alex has worked in several sectors and industries\, and lived in various countries across Western Europe. He spent time in management consulting\, in telecommunications\, in e-commerce\, in distribution\, in payments\, and in software. Notably he was CMO at eBay between 2009 and 2013 and Chief Digital\, Technology and Innovation Officer at Electrocomponents plc between 2015 and 2018. Today\, Alex is the Managing Director for Europe\, Middle East and Africa for Xero\, a New Zealand founded and Australia listed Cloud Accounting software company. He and his family live in London\, United Kingdom. \nRegister\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ZNLAbeJjQASoExnFwwNNjQ

SUMMARY:Rewriting the future of the world - Talking "Net Positive" with Paul Polman
DESCRIPTION:In conversation with Paul Polman – virtual session on June 21st: The financial case for sustainability to complement the moral case for doing “the right thing”.\nMost of us have long been convinced of the need for something to change\, to help correct the seemingly universal path towards planetary self-destruction. Convinced\, frustrated but perhaps also resigned in the face of the seeming enormity and complexity of the challenges ahead. Waiting for “something” to change. Or maybe waiting for “someone”. \nGrowing up\, business-wise\, as we all did with the PVP’s ringing true and John Pepper’s eternal words of pursuing the hard right even when tempted by the easy wrong\, I’m sure many of you\, like I\, feel convinced of the imperative to do things for the greater good. But when it comes to huge topics such as climate change\, global warming\, migration\, equal opportunity\, poverty\, hunger and so forth it is easy to simply feel overwhelmed and instead just play ostrich – hide our heads in the sand\, hoping the danger will have blown over by the time we next look. While just minding our own business\, maybe even with a twinge of guilt thrown in for good measure. Waiting for the “something”. \nSo what might be wrong with “waiting for something”? Maybe waiting is no longer an option. Maybe it’s not ‘something’ but ‘someone’. And above all\, maybe that ‘someone’ is actually me. You. Us. Maybe WE need to be the someone? \nSomeone who certainly is someone is our great friend Paul Polman. Following his stellar P&G career and a stint with Nestle\, Paul became the iconic CEO and chairman of Unilever\, who during his decade at the helm is rightly credited with catapulting Unilever ahead\, not just in terms of business results but in terms of value creation AND in terms of changing the corporate agenda towards one far more in tune with the future of the world and one directly inspired by\, compatible with and inspirational for the UN’s SDGs. \nPaul is now passionately campaigning for and getting directly involved in the global efforts to help business take responsibility for and actively contribute to a change of direction. With his latest contribution\, Net Positive\, Paul argues that the world does not need “Neutral by 2050” – no\, it needs net positive and it needs it now. But Paul’s unique insight into the world of business as well as the world of both NGO’s and governments also helps him focus on the reality: that\, as ever\, if something needs to change\, then it needs not just a vision and a rallying cry\, it needs a tangible incentive. “Follow the Money”… \nNet Positive is the story about how accelerating change towards a sustainable world is not a tradeoff to financial growth\, quite the contrary. As soon as the cost of doing nothing exceeds the cost of doing something\, change will happen. \nFresh from the World Economic Forum\, Paul has agreed to an exclusive session with the P&G Geneva Alumni and the associates from P&G Alumni’s sponsoring partner\, greyhairworks. \nTuesday June 21st\, at 6pm CEST\, Paul will speak to us about the case for Net Positive and how the shift can happen. Everyone should play a role\, and anyone could play a role. We are all masters of own our immediate choices. Focusing less on the “Why?” and far more on the “How?” we will hear from Paul before engaging in a conversation and Q&A’s from the audience. \nThe event will run on Zoom – registration and a ticket is required. Registrations close at 4pm on the 21st\, and zoom details & the e-book license will be sent to the registered email address 2 hours before the event. You have 3 ticket options: \nBasic for CHF 15\, which reserves a seat and access to an e-book copy of Net Positive;\nCharity match for CHF 30 which also adds a matching donation to the P&G Alumni Geneva chapter’s nominated charities\, which currently are all about supporting the humanitarian efforts required for Ukraine or\nCharity Plus for CHF 50 – the same\, just a bigger donation. If you can\, please be generous – the victims of the war in Ukraine have many shapes\, colours and needs – the more we can help\, the more we fuel the hope and make an actual impact. \nSee you for “Net Positive”. Because ‘someone’ might just be you. \nJesper Wiegandt Gudrun Wiegandt Anne-Claire Moulin\nPresident Secretary Treasurer \nGet your ticket now through Eventbrite:\nhttps://www.eventbrite.ch/e/rewriting-the-future-of-the-world-talking-net-positive-with-paul-polman-tickets-351579532847
